Button Basics
George's Famous Cheese Buttons are tender
noodle dough stuffed with seasoned cheese and onions. Prepared the
old-fashioned way from an authentic German-Russian pioneer recipe
using only farm fresh brown eggs. Always tender, always
delicious, George's Cheese Buttons are perfect any time of the
day!
Pick up a package of George's frozen
Cheese Buttons. They are already fully cooked-- just thaw and serve
using any of the following recipes or invent your own! Most
popular is to simply brown them in butter.
Buttons for
Appetizers (perfect as a
snack)
Buttons & Dip: Brown buttons and
serve with your favorite dipping sauce or puree one large, peeled
and seeded cucumber in blender. Add puree to one cup sour cream and
1/2 tsp. dillweed. Mix well and start dipping!
Buttons for
Lunch (perfect for light meals)
Button & Cukes: Brown two Cheese
Buttons and serve with creamy cucumber salad.
Button Chowder: Saute chopped onions in
butter. Add sweet cream, salt and pepper to taste. Lay Cheese
Buttons in the mixture and re-heat, but do not boil. Serve in a
shallow bowl and garnish with fresh chives. For variety add chopped
celery and/or bell pepper to the onions and enjoy!

and enjoy with a bowl of your favorite soup.

Supper (perfect for hardy meals)
Buttons & Sausage: Brown two Cheese
Buttons and your favorite German frying sausage. Smother sausage in
sauteed onions and bell pepper and serve with coleslaw or creamy
cucumber salad.
Button Dinner: Brown three Cheese Buttons
in butter. Remove buttons add more butter and brown bread
crumbs with finely chopped onions. Melt sour cream over buttons and
sprinkle with crumb/onion mixture. Serve with a cup of Borscht or
creamy cucumber salad for the perfect combination of comfort food
and nutrition.
Buttons & Fish: Brown two Cheese
Buttons and serve with your favorite fish filet on a bed of Romaine
with rice and mixed veggies.

Breakfast (perfect to start the
day)
Button Scrambles: Slice a Cheese Button
into 1/4 inch strips. Lay strips in a frying pan exposing the tender
cheese centers and pour two whipped eggs over all. Cover and cook
until eggs are solid. Garnish with fresh chives and serve with fried
potatoes and orange slices.
Buttons & Bacon: Brown two Cheese
Buttons and serve with three strips of crispy bacon and a seasonal
fruit cup.
Buttons for
Dessert (perfect as a sweet
treat)
Sweet Buttons: Gently warm four Cheese
Buttons in the microwave and set aside. Heat 1/4 cup sour cream with
2 tsp. sugar for minute in microwave. Remove and stir in one drop
vanilla. Spread sauce over Cheese Buttons. Garnish with a dash of
cardamom and/or finely ground pecans. Serve warm.
